The junior middle school chemistry knowledge is the basis of the seniormiddle school chemistry knowledge, the latter is the continuation anddeepening of the former, only by linking up the latter and the former, ascientific and complete chemical knowledge system can be constructed. Theorganical connection of junior and senior school chemistry knowledge can laya solid foundation for the students to learn chemistry knowledge. Otherwise,there will be problem such as the drops of students’ enthusiasm and heavylearning burden. So, it is very important to deal with the connection.This research is based on Paivio’s dual coding theory, Lev Vygotsky’s thezone of proximal development theory and Юрий Констинович Бабанский’sthe optimization of teaching theory. According to the senior school chemistryknowledge system, combined with the junior and senior middle schoolchemistry teaching problems, how to use the multimedia to promote thelink-up is discussed in respect to the concept of chemistry, principle ofchemical reaction, chemistry experiment, chemical calculation, STSEeducation, design lessons from the teaching experience, and the designs wereapplied to the actual teaching.This paper carried out the research from the following four aspects:First, in order to determine whether there was a problem of poorchemistry knowledge connection between junior and senior middle school inHelingeer County, the part of students and chemistry teachers as the researchobject in the middle school were selected, carried on the questionnaire survey.The statistics and analysis of survey results show that there exist chemicalknowledge connection problems between junior and senior middle school inHelingeer County, resulting from the chemistry knowledge of senior schoolstoo much and abstract. Second, using an educational concept of the new curriculum, andadopting the tools of multimedia teaching, taking the chemical knowledge ofjunior school as teaching starting point, the general strategy are obtained forpromoting the link-up between junior chemistry and senior chemistry.Forthermore, how to use the multimedia to promote the link-up is discussed inrespect to the concept of chemistry, principle of chemical reaction, chemistryexperiment, chemical calculation, STSE education.Third, based on the general strategy connecting the senior chemistry withthe junior chemistry, the chemical knowledge in the chemistry compulsory1by people’s education press and in the nine grade chemistry by cantonese’seducation press were chosen, the five representative teaching contents whichform the concept of chemistry, principle of chemical reaction, chemistryexperiment, chemical calculation, and STSE education were designed. Thedesigns were applied to the actual teaching.Fourth, the teaching designs were conducted in two parallel classes (theexperimental class and the control class) with NO.1Middle school ofHelingeer. The finding by statistical results and analysis is that there is nodifference between the experimental class and the control class before the test,but learning achievement of the experimental class was advanced notablyafter the test. It can also be found that the multimedia can promote the link-upbetween the junior chemistry and senior chemistry.
