With the rapid development of the society, the cultivation of talents with integrated skills has become a hot-spot subject of the times and the intersection between and integration of different subjects will be inevitable. However, currently, all the subjects are still independent from each other and the communication among them is not sufficient, which has indirectly led to difficulties in the teachers’ teaching and students’ study. This problem is especially prominent in the teaching and study of biology and chemistry. Despite the subjects’close connection, the knowledge of the two subjects in the senior high school textbooks is quite scattered and this has severely hindered the students’study of the cross-section knowledge between them.In order to start resolving the problem of lack of connection between the teachings of biology and chemistry, this study has picked up the top10knowledge points at the intersection between the biology and chemistry textbooks. Then it tries to solve this problem through several steps. First, it tries to find out the reason why students have difficulty in learning the intersection knowledge between biology and chemistry and then proposes solution schemes through the analysis of the result of a survey involving159Grade2students in the No.1Senior High School of Hohhot. According to the survey, the students are lack of relevant basic knowledge in chemistry, the teachers’ illustration is not systematic and the content in the textbooks are not closely connected, which are the major reasons why students have difficulties in their study. And this paper proposes that introducing more relevant chemistry knowledge via CAI might be a plausible method to get this problem solved. Besides, based on the findings from literature reviews, there has not been any attempt to solve this problem via CAI so far, so this study will have certain applicable value.Second, based on the status quo of CAI teaching and relevant theories, this paper probes into the plausibility of using CAI to assist the teaching of intersection knowledge between biology and chemistry; it summarizes the basic requirement for the design of CAI courseware from the educational, scientific and artistic aspects and proposes a six-step teaching process to conduct the CAI teaching:determine the teaching objectives, specify important and difficult knowledge points, design introductive new courseware, design teaching objective courseware, design chemistry-related courseware and design biology-related courseware. In this study, this paper has chosen the most representative one among the10close-related cross-section knowledge points between the senior high school biology and chemistry textbooks-"The basic unit and structure of protein" and "The like dissolves like principle" as the study target and designed the corresponding CAI courseware in accordance with the design process above.Third, to test the effect of the courseware designed, we have selected two parallel classes of Grade1in No.1Senior High School of Hohhot as the experiment targets and conducted statistical analysis with mathematical softwares including Excel2003and SPSS13.0and also conducted the T test. The result shows that the scores of students in the experiment classes are higher than those of students in the non-experiment classes and the experiment classes students have higher accuracy in answering questions that emphasize on comprehension.Finally, after the experiment, we conducted a questionnaire survey among the experiment class students on their feelings about the new teaching method and degree of recognition. According to the results, most students recognize this new teaching method and admit that this method has enhanced their study capacity, which testifies to the fact that through the use of CAI teaching method, the difficulty in studying the intersection knowledge between biology and chemistry can be solved effectively.
