The new round of basic education reform in our country started inthe20thcentury and at the beginning of21stcentury. The reform focuseson the curriculum and teaching. Curriculum is the expression of socialpolitics, economy, especially the cultural development of science andtechnology on people’s quality requirements. Different curriculums havedifferent educational effects.As one of the basic courses of social science,history plays an important role in students’ all-round development andpermanent learning. It’s more than ten years since the reform of historybegan. During this time, ministry of education issued the Full-timecompulsory education mathematics curriculum standard (experimentalmanuscript)in2001and the Compulsory education history curriculumstandard (Revised)in2011. This paper comparatively researches on thetwo history curriculum standards,develops the new theories and ideas ofcurriculum reform and put forwards some suggestion.This paper is divided into three parts: the first part comparativelystudies the two history curriculum standards. In this part, the authormainly compares the introduction of curriculum standard, curriculumobjectives, curriculum content and the implementation.The second partmainly explains the causes of the change. The third part mainly explainshow to make the new curriculum standard become the guiding thoughtand make the middle school teachers recognize the authority of the newcurriculum standard.
