As the continuous development of economy and technology in our country, especially affected by the trend of knowledge economy, the society appears a strong demand of different kinds of talents. Meanwhile, an increasing number of industries ask for more professional talents, and each industry calls for high-level professional talents who grasp the vocational skills needed in high-skill work. In order to meet the demand of social development, education of professional graduates has become more and more important, and the kind of graduates which differ from the academic ones have show significance in21century. The profound development of our society depends on not only the high-level academic talents, but also professional talents who have good foundation of theoretic knowledge. So cultivation of professional graduates exactly meets the demand of the times. The production-study-research co-cultivation is an important way of educating professional talents, and is also a critical road that connect school education with social practice tightly, which could motivate government, companies, academy and universities to join the career of cultivating professional graduates, and cultivate educate professional graduates together and get a win-win success. Guangxi, a big province in western China, has a natural bond with ASEAN countries in location. Recently, with the self-development of ASEAN and more frequent communication between ASEAN and China, Guangxi has becoming more eager to all kinds of professional talents to serve its society. Guangxi University is the only "211" program university in Guangxi, which means she holds the responsibility to educate various high-level people to the whole society. With the transfer of structure of human resources and the change of methods of education, the way of cultivating excellent professional graduates has becoming a vital issue in21century.This dissertation is divided to six parts. The first chapter is an introduction including the background of this issue, the meaning and purpose of this research, the methodology, and the literature review. Chapter two is mainly about theoretic research of production-study-research co-cultivation, explains the connotation, characteristic and basic theories of production-study-research co-cultivation; discusses the significance of application of synergetic theory and symbiosis theory in production-study-research co-cultivation, and analyze the social responsibility of three sides of the system of production-study-research co-cultivation. Chapter three comparatively analyzes the character and model of cultivation of professional graduates in the US, Britain, Japan and China, so that get some experiences of model of cultivation. Chapter four elaborates the facts of Guangxi and Guangxi University professional graduates cultivation, and analyzes the problems and reasons. Chapter five conceive the mechanism of production-study-research co-cultivation of professional graduates, especially discusses the mechanism of enrollment, cultivation and assessment from government, university and company (academy), and give some constructive suggestion of building mechanism of cultivation professional graduates. Chapter six is about an empirical research which uses the Guangxi University Agricultural Extension professional graduates as an example, and analyzes the facts, achievement and drawbacks of its cultivation mechanism, and find out the reasons which lead to these problems, and comparatively analyzes the differences between the pre-reform and after-reform, in order to find the practical gap with the assumption.
