The study on Chinese Students’ Constitution and Fitness indicates that, The college students, whoseconstitution has a great effect on the future of our country and nation, will play a dominant role in thesocialist modernization construction of our country. In the competitive social environment, the collegestudents join in the vulnerable group, in where people are exposed to more psychological pressure, andtheir behavior deviation problem has become increasingly frequent. Therefore, how to improve the collegestudents’ physical constitution and mental fitness is a problem urgent to solve.The basic technology oftaekwondo is simple, it needs people pay much attention to speed and leg technique. Taekwondo, the coreof which is honesty and honor, patient self-denial, perseverance, lays emphasis on “etiquette” exercise, andparticular about “begin with rite, end with rite” either in the training or on the contest. Taekwondo trainersgradually develop to be humble, generous, courteous, excellent character and respect for teachers, honestand trustworthy, aggressive.The fast conversion between movement and motionlessness, and highly coordinated movement inTaekwondo, is good to exercise a fast conversion between excitation and inhibition of the nervous system,making the full exercise of the nervous system, and improve the body’s response speed and agility. The legtechnique is the core technology of Taekwondo, through long-term exercise the body movement balanceand flexibility can be improved, it makes taekwondo trainer force of the leg faster, more accurate andmore powerful.In this study, we screened76students,36males and38females as the subjects, from Class2011-2012of Taekwondo Association in Henan Normal University. We trained them exercises relevant tothe Taekwondo for16weeks, and analyzed the data of before and after the change in training. The resultsare as follows:1. After the Taekwondo training, basic heart rate and blood pressure of both male and female were ona downward trend, but not significantly, the lung capacity and Harvard step test index were on a upwardtrend significantly. This shows that Taekwondo training can improve heart and lung function of the collegestudents.2. After the Taekwondo training, the basic height and weight of male and female students did notchange, but skinfold thickness of each part decreased, male students had significant changes in all the test part, thigh skinfold of female students was thicken significantly. This indicates that Taekwondo training canreduce the fat content of the body, improve lean body mass.3. After the Taekwondo training, speed of50m, distance of standing jump, index of sit and reach, thenumber of completed cross-quadrant jump and time of standing on one foot with eyes closed of male andfemale students were significantly improved, the change in men grip strength indicates that Taekwondotraining have a positive effect on speed, the strength of upper and lower extremity, flexibility, agility andbalance of male and female students.4. After the Taekwondo training, there was an obvious improvement on somatization,obsessive-compulsive, paranoid, relationships, hostility, depression, psychosis factor aspects, the factors ofanxiety and sleep diet of male students. There was a significant change on somatization, anxiety, depression,relationships, the factors of significant changes, paranoia and terror factor of female students. The resultsshow that Taekwondo training, intending to improve the mental health of college students, has a positivemeaning.Conclusion: Through the systemization and analysis of all the changes in the indices of both male andfemale students, this study clearly shows that Taekwondo has a positive effect on the improvement of theconstitution of college students.
