China is currently at an important period of economic and social transformation,andhigher education also faces historic change. This not only puts forward higherrequirements for how to improve the overall quality of students and promote thecomprehensive development of students, but also proposes new requirements for how toenhance the effectiveness of ideological and political education. The effectiveness ofideological and political education is a standard to measure the effect of ideological andpolitical education in universities, and a direct manifestation of the consequent ofideological and political education in universities, and is also an important basis andreference to improve the ideological and political education in universities. Therefore, theeffectiveness of ideological and political education has always been the research focus inthe domestic ideological and political education field. With the development of theeconomic globalization and the socialist market economy, strengthening the research ofthe effectiveness of ideological and political education in universities has a strongtheoretical and practical significance.This paper mainly researches the effectiveness of ideological and political educationin universities, basing on the previous research achievements and relevant theories of theeffectiveness of ideological and political education. Firstly, this paper introduces the basiccontent and main elements of ideological and political education in universities, andinvestigates the influence and impact that economic globalization, information technology,and market economic had exerted to ideological and political education in universities;Secondly, this paper summarizes the experience and main problems of the effectiveness ofideological and political education, and analysis the main factors which influence theeffectiveness of ideological and political education in universities; Finally, bases on theformer research, this paper proposes some suggestions, such as strengthening theoreticalguidance for ideological and political education in universities, strengthening teachersteam of ideological and political education in universities, improving the mechanism ofideological political education in universities and strengthening the theory and curriculuminnovation of the ideological and political education in universities.
