| Listening is the premise and the key for language learning, without which no communi-cation is possible. Thus, training and improving students’ listening will help to improve their communicative competence in English. With mobile computing technology being in full swing and the mobile learning becoming an important way of learning, smart phone has been popularized among college students. As a learning vector, smart phones enable learners to overcome the limit of time and space, make up for the lack of resources, create the environment in which everyone can enjoy the opportunity of listening, and they’re also conducive to improving college students’ English Listening ability, which helps to lay the foundation for the enhancement of students’ overall English ability. To a certain extent, it can help extend the students learning hours of English, promote the communication between teachers and students, and improve college English learning. Therefore, the research is of great significance both in theory and practice.This paper makes a comparative analysis on the implementation of mobile learning both at home and abroad in recent years, and initially puts forward the goal of this research. Secondly, analyzes the present situation of university English listening course and the existing problems, and the feasibility of auxiliary university English listening course using mobile technology by means of questionnaire. Finally, according to the actual situation of English listening teaching, carries out the overall design, database design, interface design and detailed design of university English listening software based on Android platform, and gives the main function module realization method and effect.The study of mobile English learning software based on smart-phones, on one hand, is conducive to the development and perfection of mobile learning theory, lays a solid theoretical basis for further research; on the other hand, it is conducive to the realization of student-centered, self-control learning process, and individualized learning approach, as to stimulate the students’ interest in learning English, and improve the students’competence in English listening. |
