Since the1980s, private colleges education after nearly three decades of a very-difficult-process development, has made great progress. As an important growth point of China’s higher education, it has played a huge role in promoting our country’s higher education system reform. The emergence of private higher education has not only met the education needs of the society, but also satisfied the social widespread demand of talents through the rational use of education resources and increasing the education funds investment. Especially in recent years, China’s private higher education has developed rapidly, and as a necessary complement to public higher education it has becoming more and more important, however some problems among private university instructors, especially the lack of sense of belonging, have become a bottleneck restricting the development of private colleges, and brought some obstacles to the development of it. Therefore, this article aims at the problem of private university instructors’lack of sense of belonging and gives some suggestions on how to solve the problem.This article firstly talks the significance of establishing private university instructors’sense of belonging and some related concepts, and then analyses the reasons of private university instructors’ lack of sense of belonging by use of the psychological motivation expectancy theory, the hierarchy of needs theory and the questionnaire survey. Through analysis, the article finds out that the reasons behind private university instructors’lack of sense of belonging are many, among which the main reasons are bad welfare, low salary, narrow development space, and unreasonable college management system when compared with public higher university instructors. These reasons lead private university instructor to lack of sense of belonging, and in the meantime cause them to lose work responsibility. The article focuses on these problems and hope to solve the relevant problems from the following aspects. Firstly, our country should give private college instructors some related policy support. Secondly, the holders and the managers of private colleges should be more people-oriented to treat private college instructors. Thirdly, private colleges instructors’ salary and welfare system should be improved. Fourthly, private colleges instructors should be given more professional development opportunities and the development system should be perfected. Finally, private colleges should strengthen the construction of private colleges campus environment and humane environment. Only through the above solutions, can do a good job to private higher education, make it develop stably, and also can enhance the sense of belonging of private college instructors.
