A Study On Dormitory Interpersonal Relationship, Internet Use Preference, And Mental Health

College students’ dormitory interpersonal relationship is an important part ofcollege students’ interpersonal relationship, the quality is closely related to the mentalhealth level. And the network uses is the main behavior except sleeping in thedormitory. Dormitory interpersonal relationship may affect the network preferences,which affect the mental health level.This study choose the freshman, sophomore and junior students fromSouth-Central University For Nationalities as the object. Using the UniversityPersonality Inventory,college students’ dormitory interpersonal relationship inventoryand the youth network preferences inventory to explore college students’ dormitoryinterpersonal relationship, the internet use preference and the relations between andamong the mental health level.The results are as follows:(1) the overall level of college students’ mental health ispoor. Girl’s mental health level is lower than boys, as engineering seniors to arts andscience students mental health is poor. The poor family economic condition of collegestudents’ psychological health level is lower than the average family and rich family.College students’ mental health level were no significant differences in the grade.(2) The girl’s dormitory interpersonal relationship was better than boys. Stayying inthe dormitory for a long time,college students’ dormitory interpersonal relationship willbe better. Dormitory interpersonal relationship has was no significant difference ingrade, professional, whether the one-child, whether to have lived in school history.(3) The dimensions of internet using of boys’ scores were higher than girls. Thedifference of trading tools and entertainment tool dimension is very significant.Dimension of social tools is very significant difference. The differences of grade in eachdimension, sophomore junior grade higher than freshman year. In the entertainment tooldimension, junior is higher than sophomore freshman. In the professional difference, inaddition to entertainment tool dimensions, engineering preference is greater than the liberal arts, other dimensions were no significant difference.(4) The dormitory interpersonal relationship influence the mental health level, thedormitory interpersonal relationships also influence network information channels in thepreferences and the choice of trading tools. The internet use preference has nosignificant effects on mental health. In general, the internet use preference did not play amediating role between the the dormitory interpersonal relationship and mental healthlevel. But on sophomore year, the intermediary effect exists.
