Along with the enrollment expansion of the higher vocational colleges, the scales of thecampus and the running mode ofschools change greatly in recent years. In particular, ever sincethe higher vocational colleges vigorously promote the teaching reform of "combination ofworking with learning”, traditional education mode has been completely changed.As the forefront of reform and opening up, based on the regional economic advantages,the higher vocational education of Guangdong has been developing rapidly. Because of theimbalance of the higher vocational education overall development, there are severe disparitieson the financial outlay devotion between colleges, some of the college had adopt themulti-campus operation, which leads to serious questions such as weakness of foundationalinfrastructure, outmoded management means etc. The campus management problems and thehidden safety dangers are becoming more and more prominent. Hidden safety dangers such asgroup accidents of students, fighting or gang warfare, illegal gathering, accident hurt duringstudents’internships, lead a tremendous impact on both schools and society.The campus is the cohesive zone to the society, one of the most crowded gathering zoneamong the organizations, also the focus of social concern. If the students’ crisis preventionand management is not in place, its radiation effects will be extremely bad on campus andsocial stability. In this regard, to use the characteristics of operation, talented cultivationmode, the quality of students, management mode and so on as the breakthrough point, studythe outstanding problems of crisis management of higher vocational college students, activelyprevent the possibility of students crisis, maintain the normal teaching and living order,protect the safety of teachers and students has become the primary task of vocational collegecampus crisis management. It is quite significant to guide the practical work in highervocational colleges and universities, to promote the harmonious, stable and healthydevelopment.In order to understand the crisis management situation of Guangdong higher vocationalcolleges and the theories of the crisis management application, discover the outstandingproblems and its reasons existing on campus crisis emergency management, interviewing,questionnaire investigation, case study and other methods are adopted in this study. At thesame time, this study learns from the successful experience of students crisis management inforeign colleges together with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan colleges, applies public crisismanagement theories, proposes coping tactics to Guangdong vocational college students crisismanagement problems in this regard. This study also works on optimize the organization ofcrisis management in schools, formulating efficient pre-arranged planning, establishing innovative student crisis prevention and intervention mode, enlarge the investment on crisisprevention and control software, the hardware facilities, strengthening the campus crisiseducation propaganda, and improving teachers’ and students’ senses of crisis and emergencyresponse capacity etc. The results of study have certain reference significance for promotingharmonious, stable and healthy development of higher vocational colleges in practice.
