Chinese University Student Crisis Management Research

Recent years, with the profound changes of situations having taken place both at home and abroad, graduate students have been facing lots of new problems. However, all kinds of sudden crises have greatly affected their normal teaching and interrupted their life routine seriously. Now, there has been full knowledge of the damage of incidents. Colleges and universities have been much more active to deal with the emergencies and incidents, which reduces the damage effectively, the reality is not optimistic. the effect is not ideal.Therefore, the paper analyses the types and characteristics of the crisis incidents, looks into its reasons and summarizes its present state as well as its problems based on the definition and characteristics of the campus crisis management. From two views of crisis manager and the students, the author also sets forth into how to set up effective campus crisis management in colleges and universities, including the crisis management organization system and its responsibilities; the crisis system of warning, decision, communication, controlling and evaluation. Meantime, in order to do a good job in campus crisis management, both colleges and students should put great efforts in it, such as team-building for campus crisis, four principles of crisis handling, crisis preventing strategy and process. Especially for students, they should be well trained about how to deal with emergencies and improve themselves so as to prevent crisis more effectively.
