Objective:20Meter Multistage Shuttle Run Test (20mSRT) is one of themost effective indirect measure methods to evaluate cardiopulmonaryfunction, however, there is no previous study about using20mSRT as anaerobic exercise intervention. In this study, by collecting the energyconsumption (total exercise, exercise intensity, exercise time, etc.) datausing an internationally recognized motion sensor GT3X+in20mSRT,then based on the20mSRT scores and some related project data, we canlearn the basic features of20mSRT and the feasibility of applying20mSRT as an aerobic endurance intervention in college student.Method: This study integrated using literature, experiment, questionnaire,SPSS19.0, and Excel2013as data collecting, processing and analysistools. Experiment subjects are120college students (57male and63female) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. This study analyse the basiccharacteristics of these students in the20mSRT; and acquired dataincluding height, weight,20mSRT scores and level. In these experiments,a GT3X+is used to collect METs mean to analyse the distributioncharacteristics of exercise intensity in the20mSRT.Results:1. Males’20mSRT scores and METs mean are higher thanfemales in the exercise, and there is a significant difference betweenmales and females; there is a big individual difference on Males’20mSRT scores and METs mean;2. There is an distinctive difference on20mSRTscores distribution between males and females;3. Base onFitnessGram10.0health standard reference standard, Males’ pass rate (upto health standards and above) is56.5%while females’33.33%;4.56%subject accept20mSRT as aerobic endurance training methods and46.8%selectivity tendency;5. Males pay more attention to the amount andexercise intensity during the exercise while females pay more attention totheir self-feelings.Conclusions:1.There is a significant difference on20mSRT scores andMETs mean between males and females;2.Base on the FitnessGram10.0health standard reference standard, the test results of subjects are notideal;3. Grouped according to the exercise intensity, there is a significantdifferences on males’20mSRT scores and METs mean, while there is nostatistically difference on females’;4.There are some gender differencesin the purpose of physical activity, that improving heart and lung function;5. It is operable for20mSRT as an aerobic exercise intervention.
