In this information age, on the one hand, occidental social thought and cultureinfluences the view of people’s value to the whole world through the network, film,television and other mass media. On the other hand, the university students becomethe main trend of contacting and spreading the new ideas cause the character of theirage and thinking patterns. So that the university students have a quick response tosome occidental social thoughts, and soon accept the culture and thought comfortably,but it’s very misleading and harmfulness to the students who can not tell thedifferences between decadent ideas and positive ideas. All kinds of social thoughtinteract with each other; diversity values not only have brought great influence on theyoung group’s psychological, ideological, behaviors and other aspects, but also hugeimpact and challenge to our mainstream ideology. In this context, only if analysis theexisting problem and find effective ways and feasible countermeasures to lead them,you can guide the university students to set up the correct ideals and faiths.Based on the above discussion, this essay discussed from four aspects to studythe occidental social thought’s effect and countermeasures of university student:First of all, this essay summary the current situation research on the domesticand foreign of social thoughts. Analyzes the significance of the research on thewestern thoughts, expounding the very important realistic meaning, and presentingthe research ideas and methods.Secondly, we start with the concept of social thoughts, and presenting the natureand characteristic of occidental social thoughts, especially introduce severaloccidental social thoughts that have large impact to the university students. The socialthoughts are very influential tendency in special historical period, the new liberalism,consumerism, extreme individualism and democratic socialism are now have greatinfluence on the university students. The occidental social thoughts attract theuniversity students because of its theory, epidemic, fresh, interesting and personalize,and they always serve for the western country, the occidental social thought’s valuesand ideological tendency.Thirdly, we explore the awareness of western thoughts to the university students, and the way that the western thoughts influence the university students. Analysesthese western thought’s influences to the psychological, thought, behavior aspect ofstudents, and analyses the positive and negative effects. Nowadays the universitystudents are not totally understand the western thought, mostly understand thesuperficial meaning. The occidental social thoughts have broaden their vision, bringthe new values, satisfied their spiritual needs and make them realize the advanced andscientific of Marxist after the comparison. In the meantime, the occidental socialthoughts have negative effect for the university students to establish the correctconcept, and easily to cause the corrupt in their life and the corruption of the spirit,it’s not good for their ideological education.Lastly, this essay based on the Marxism theory, discussed about how to guide thecollege students to establish the correct ideals and beliefs. This essay to strengthen thecollege students’ ideological education, presenting to enhance the research on theoccidental social thoughts, to grasp the forming and changing characteristics ofoccidental social thoughts among the college students, to improve the identify andcontrol ability of occidental social thoughts. In the meantime, we need to improve ourown culture attraction, carrying on conducting publicity and education. We shouldstrengthen the socialist ideological construction, to expend the practicable andeffective way, and respond to the effects of occidental social thoughts.
