With the development of economy, China, enjoying a higher status in the worldhas become more and more connected to the outside world. English, as one ofinternational language is the main communication tool between China and the world.Consequently, people attach great significance to English learning.It is well-knownthat the high school phase plays a role part in English learning, which not only laysthe foundation of learning English and arouses students’interests in it but also,tocome extent,will have a profound impact on whether students can be admitted toideal universities.By observing the current teaching condition of highschool.However,we can easily draw the conclusion that most high school studentslack the learning motivation,not achieving what they really want.The four main significances of the study are listed as follows: First, the studyabout high school stuends’English learning motivation and their shortcomings oflearning motivation, for one thing, it can help to have a better understanding of theirintegrating skills of utilizing English; For the other thing,it can also lay a solidfoundation to improve their comprehensive qualities. Second, the study can providemore information for the original study and meanwhile, also provide objective basis.Third, by analyzing the cause of their shortcomings of learning motivation, the studyaims to provide relevant strategies concerning how to stimulate students’learningmotivation,which will guide English teaching.Forth, the study is of great help toarouse students’interests in learning English and improve students’ efficiently,contributing to finishing their study successfully, of course.In the paper, literature date method, questionnaire method, interview method areused.The paper aims at surveying high school students’learning motivation as well asanalyzing the surveyed results in detail.What’s more,it will summarize the factorswhich influence high students’English learning motivation according to the result andbased on it,five strategies about stimulating high school students’ English learningmotivation are put forward:First, we should establish a good relationship with students and stress theimportance of modeling of teachers.Second, we should pay attention to the practicalvalue of English while getting rid of the thought that grade comes first in order to getstudents to realize the important part English plays in their future life.Third, weshould combine English learning with the future development so that we can helpstudents set a long—term goal.Fourth, to get students to find pleasure in the processof learning English.we should add more information to the English teaching.Fifth,we should take the differences among students seriously and teach students inaccordance with their aptitude, surely stimulating overall students’ stable andlong-term English learning motivation.
