With the rapidly development of science and technology, the requirements of thecollege students are higher and higher. To have the ability of scientific literacy is vital forthe modern college students. The colleges pay attention to foster the students’professionalaccomplishment; meanwhile, they also need to devote to nurturing the innovation andscience spiritual of the students. Therefore, the excellences will adapt the trend of thechanging society better. University is an important training place of our country.Consequently, in the educational process of the university, it is necessary to strengthen thecultivation of scientific literacy of university students.At first, through the way of literacy analysis, writers comprehensively analyze thedevelopment and situation in domestic country and foreign country of their STS theoryand scientific literacy education. And they find the relation between STS theory andscientific literacy education. Second, this article is aiming at the students who are atschool in He Be province. By way of questionnaire survey, we can understand the presentsituation of college students’ scientific attainment and existing problems. By investigatingand analyzing current situation of the students, they also find out the problems andrelevant affective factors and then they can analyze it. Next, this article is in connectionwith the problems in university students’scientific accomplishment, through applying STStheory, they learn about the problems in scientific literacy education. Combining ouraffairs of advanced schools in our country and actual circumstances, they attempt to putforward the strategy of scientific literacy education and propose creative ideas in teachingmethods and class settlement. Last, writers forecast the development of STS education.They also put forward the idea about making the STS educational theory more popular inChina. They strongly want to find out the strategy of STS educational theory that mostadapted our country condition and educational situation in our advanced schools.Above all, the article separately used the methods of questionnaire, interview andcomparative analysis. Through analyzing the STS theory and the scientific literacyeducation, the study not only provides creatively nurturing strategy of the college students’scientific literacy based on the STS theory but also offers tentatively creative methodsabout the revolution in educational ways and STS classes. In addition, the study providesthe thinking of building and referenced suggestion on the scientific literacy education inour universities and even in our country. In the one hand, it offers the theoretical support and training strategies basing on the cultivation of scientific literacy of university students.On the other hand, it plays a significant role in the improvement of the national scientificliteracy and the building of high quality talents of the university students.
