With the enforcement of the one-child policy, the sex ratio at birth is increasing inchina. In terms of the comparison between countries, or the comparsion between times inChina, now the imbalance of the sex ratio in china is very serious. The researchers aremore likely to pay attention to the abnormal phenomenon and its causes and impacts. There remains two problems, the first is that even we have a economic survey an analysis,we lack a comprehensive economic framework for analysis, when the field is dominatedby sociology; the other is the disregarding of the income and the welfare of "Guanggun",which will be under the pressure of the high sex ratio with questions. This thesis focuseson providing a further step of the problems above, dealing with the two problems. This thesis will synthesize the theoretical analysis and the empirical test. Based onthe existing theory, this thesis gives a analytical framework of the imbalance of the sexratio. It suggests that is caused by economic, cultural, political and technological factors. We deduce three hypotheses from the framework, namely: the policy skews the sex ratioat birth in the wholl; the influence of policy is not significant in the high-income region;the preference of the male infant contributes to the imbalance of the sex ratio at birth, andcheck them. The results support our framework. This thesis also surveys the economiceffects of the imbalance, drawing special attention to the income of the imbalance-madegroup-"Guanggun". Through the survey of the chfls database, we find that the male inmainland had no marriage premium, which means the marriage does not affect the incomesignificantly. We suggest the reason is that the marriage premium relies on the educationallevel for modernity. But we also find that a "Guanggun" lives in a more miserable life, andwe will meet "miserable development" in the future. As to the conclusion and the fierce debate now, we believe the authority should havea more enlightened way to solve the population problem.
