Columbia University recorded Zhang Boling like this: in nearly50years, ZhangBoling of Nankai, a loyal and tireless man who founded the education institutions andcultivated talents, had won the national influence and international popularity. ZhangBoling had become a moral force of the lighthouse and the symbol of national confidencein his day. His moral sentiment and loyal dedication to the interests of the people used toinfect millions of people.①In the rich and perfect education thought system of Mr.Zhang,former president of Nankai, moral education thought is one of the most importantpart, and one of the most striking features in his education thought.Based on the analysis of historical origin of Zhang Boling’s university moral educationthoughts, and on a large number of literature research and field research, this articleconsidered that Zhang Boling’s university moral education thought mainly includes: theuniversity moral education training objective is for the public’s spirit and ability、thepersonality education of edify the personality is fundamental、patriotism education ofhow to be a real man, first learn to be patriotic and the spirit and civilizationconstruction of the university. In Zhang Boling’s university moral education thoughts, theeffective methods of moral education includes: For teachers, put forward the method oflearning pay equal attention to practice; in order to implement the policy of knowabout China, used the method of educating students through practice; to vividly conveythe concept of moral education, created the image education method; carried out recessiveeducation through the gorgeous and colorful moral education、the spiritual sublimation ofaesthetic education、the physical education to promote physical and moral commondevelopment and so on. Then this research from three sides analyzed Zhang Boling’sseries of moral education practice in Nankai university, mainly includes: setting up themoral education course content; the teachers team construction of moral education; theconstruction of moral rules and regulations; the construction of moral education courses’evaluation.Finally, this article from the employment situation in society of Nankai university’s graduates and Zhang Boling’s personality charm how influenced studentsmoral standards this two sides to measure the effect of Mr.Zhang’s moral education.On account of the integration of traditional moral education and the western moraleducation, Zhang Boling’s education concept of taking the student as fundamental、payingattention to the students spirit guide and personality shaping、and emphasizing generaleducation; Optimizing the structure of university moral education content, enrichingcampus culture construction’s method and pathway, and improve the system constructionof university moral education and so on, his university moral education thoughts andpractice had many positive significance and enlightenment to strengthen and improvedmoral education in modern colleges and universities.
