In recent years, the university ideological and political theory courses havemade unprecedented progress in both theory and practice. However, manyproblems still exist. The first chapter summarizes the three aspects: teaching is notvivid, the degree of rapport between teachers and students is not enough, andstudents are not actively involved. According to the teaching situation, referring toprevious research, the second chapter analyzes the theoretical significance of EQtheory in the course teaching. It captures the three factors: emotions, feelings,sentiments. The theory of EQ and the theory of ideological and political coursesare interlinked. Furthermore, with the questionnaire, the third chapter analyzes thepractical significance of EQ in the course teaching.Through the theoretical and practical analysis, we found that theory of EQ isfeasible and necessary. It has very important theoretical and practical significancefor the ideological and political theory courses. In theory, the EQ has a profoundimpact on shaping the moral. Emotion is the precondition of morality. Emotion isthe key of morality. And sentiment is the foundation of morality. In reality, withthe survey, we found that the ideological and political theory courses teachingneeds to be improved from emotions and feelings. Moreover, methods have beenproposed to solve the problem.According to the "people-oriented" principle, the fourth chapter highlightsthe leading role of teachers, emphasizing the dominant position of students.Around the emotions, feelings and sentiments, this chapter analyzes that how touse the theory of EQ to guide teaching for teachers. First, teachers shouldmobilize sentiment to improve teaching methods, teacher-student relationships,and student motivation. Second, teachers should use the theory of EQ to combinetextbooks, teachers and students, to achieve emotional interaction. Finally,teachers should use EQ to shape students’ cognition, emotion, willing, beliefs, andbehaviors, to cultivate high EQ and high-quality students. Step by step, theemotional level rose to the emotional level, and then rose to the height ofsentiment. By improving teaching methods, teacher can improve the classatmosphere, the teacher-student relationship, and the teaching quality.
