Private universities in Shandong province is an important component of education cause in Shandong province, in the realization of popularization of higher education, cultivating talents and promoting economic development plays an important role. After years of development, private universities have made brilliant achievements.Since the reform and opening, with the constant improvement of market economic operation mechanism and the education system reform gradually in place, private higher education in Shandong province to the local economy has made a great contribution to sustainable development, and presents the trend of the development of overall is a good vigorous upward. But many problems exist in the competition strategies of universities, facing with the plight of how to choose and implement strategies.I hope I can analyze the competition strategies of private colleges in Shandong province through investigation and study on this basis in the paper.Through the analysis of competition strategy in the process of operation and research, provide suggestions and comments on the development of private universities in Shandong province. The article is divided into six parts: the first part, introduction. The article studies the background and purpose of significance, related literature review, research methods and research ideas are introduced.The second part, private colleges competition strategy analysis model building. Firstly the article analyzes the traditional market competition enterprise using of the swot analysis.Secondly from two aspects of the necessity and importance of building in capital, brand, teachers and students“four aspects of privatecolleges “four-dimensional model” the analysis of the competition strategies, to carry out specific analysis on the competitive strategies of private universities.The third part, the introduction of private colleges development course and the present situation in Shandong province. Summarizing the characteristics of its development through development and present situation of private universities in Shandong province is combed. Private universities in Shandong province can be divided into three categories according to different governance subject.The fourth part,analysis the competitive strategies of private universites in Shandong Province.The article selects three universities in Shandong as the modle including Shandong Yingcai University、Nanshan University and Qingdao university of technology.The article builds a four-dimensional mode land analyses the competitive strategies from the capital, teachers, brand, students, and compares the similarities and the differences of the competitive strategies between different universities.The fifth part, the competition strategy’s choice of the private universities in Shandong Province and the problems existing in the implementation process. It find the issues about the competitive strategies of the private universities through the analysis and cases study above and mainly discusses from the funds, brand, students and the teachers.The sixth part, the choice and the improvement of competition strategy of the private university in Shandong Province. Through competitive strategy and marketing management theory could conclude: private universities in Shandong Province in terms of capital cost optimization strategies should be taken; In the aspect of teachers should take talent strategy; Education should be taken in terms of brand characteristic and the professional centralization strategy; In the aspect of students should take the right marketing strategy.
