The Study Of The Situation Of The Ideological And Political Education And Countermeasures In Beijing Sport University Postgraduate "Champion Class"

In 2003, Beijing Sport University set up a postgraduate champion class, targeting at athletes who had won championships in the three biggest world games and their coaches. Until now, this class has enrolled 251 students and made certain achievements. However, the ideological and political education for the students is not enough.Based on the study of relevant literature, the statistics and analysis for various elements by handling questionnaire for three grades, Grade 2012,2013 and 2014, the interviews with experts in the ideological and political education area, this article reached the following results:1. Most of the teachers who take charge of the ideological and political education for students in "champion class" are managerial staff, but the number of full-time tutors is insufficient. Firstly, the ideological and political educators are able to provide students with high quality teaching, effectively convey the spirits of school management and education, actively organize and supervise relevant activities, and are capable of leading students to participate through the process of the ideological and political education. Secondly, the tutors of the "champion class" can successfully arrange some activities for the ideological and political education, mainly including the learning activities of The Communist Party and The Communist Youth League, and various forms of academic, entertainment, sports, and cultural activities. Thirdly, the teachers of the ideological and political education course are capable of developing good quality teaching to students and have good effect. The number of educators, tutors and teachers for the "champion class" is huge, which are able to serve on every aspects of the education for the students in the "champion class"2. The target groups of the ideological and political education for students in "champion class" are the athletes who won championships in the World Championships, the World Cup, the Olympic Games and their coaches. During the process and various activities of the ideological and political education, the students’ motivation and the degree of involvement is insufficient.3. The ideological and political education for students in "champion class" mainly includes two parts, the education guarantee system and the education assessment system. In the first system, the teaching conditions of Beijing Sport University are advanced. The teachers of the ideological and political education are with good ability and professionalism. And the university can actively organize all kinds of activities of ideological and political education. In the education assessment system, there are two evaluation methods which are subjective and objective ways. The assessment methods are single not enough.4. There are 4 parts of the ideological and political education for students in "champion class" which are theory courses of ideological and political education, students’events, Party and League activities, and overseas project. Firstly, the theory courses of ideological and political education are divided into three parts, Natural Dialectics, Research on Theory and Practice of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and the Situation and Policy Course. The types of course and education methods are relatively single. Secondly, the number and forms of the ideological and political education activities are abundant, which can meet the requirements of the ideological and political education for students in "champion class". However, the Party and League activities for "champion class" are not enough and often combined with other activities.
