In today’s the rapid development of the knowledge and economy, primary school English steps into a new stage of the development of basic education, facing reforms and innovations in training model, teaching concept, curriculum, teaching content and methods. Music assisted teaching method, applied to the primary school English class, is such a practical, cultural and interesting teaching method that contributes a lot to stimulate students’ interest in learning, encourage students to speak English and enjoy the happiness and entertainment of English learning.The task of English curriculum, advanced in the English Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education(2011 edition), refers to inspire and cultivate students’ interest in English, enable students to establish self-confidence, form good learning habits and effective learning strategies and develop the ability both of independence and cooperation. Through creating a relax and active and vivid circumstance for class, primary English teaching makes students volunteer and glad to participate in the teaching activities by using speaking, singing and other forms of teaching activities. Based on the research of primary school English teaching model, this study explores the teaching mode of cultivating the speaking and listening ability of primary school pupils in music assisted teaching class, combining psychology and the related theory of English teaching. The aim is to highlight the feasibility and advantage of music assisted teaching in primary English. The support of English teaching from the creation of situation, inspired thinking and cooperative learning, requires teachers to pay attention to guidance to students, encourage students to communicate with each other. What’s more, the class, led by the teacher, should focus on students so as to enhance students’ learning motivation, reform the teaching method, ultimate realize the cultivation of comprehensive talentsThis thesis consists of six chapters in total. Chapter one is a brief introduction, including the research background, research status both at home and abroad, the purpose and significance of research and research methods. Chapter two is the theoretical basis and introduction to some related thesis. Chapter three is the feasibility analysis and investigation of music assisted English teaching in primary education. The fourth chapter is the teaching mode design of cultivating the speaking and listening ability of primary school pupils in music assisted teaching class, including two aspects: the design of classroom teaching and learning environment. Chapter five refers to the specific application of the teaching mode of cultivating the speaking and listening ability of primary school pupils in music assisted teaching class, mainly including the name of the study, arrangement and objects, teaching aims and the key point and difficulties, analysis of teaching material, preparation for teaching, related case design to teaching process and analysis of teaching results. The last chapter is conclusion and prospect of the research.
