A Study On The Frontier Watchers’ Life Of The Mongolian In Mazongshan

This article chooses three dimensionality of space such as the mobility and stability, the edge and center, the reality and imagination. It presents the frontier watchers’life of the Mongolian in Mazongshan at the China-Mongolia frontier. That’s the reproduction of living space, resource space and relationship space, even about culture. When the Mongolian in Mazongshan faced with the plight of survival in the transitional background, they passed through the boundaries of tradition and modern, and integrated them into their own cultural system. Further more, they achieved the renewal and development of the ethnicity’s culture, and fulfilled the responsibility and mission of the frontier watcher, and maintained the safety and stabilization of the border between China and Mongolia.Therefore, keeping a foothold at local or marginal perspective, we can make the emic logic of development clearly and definitely, as well as the agent object of practice. In addition, when we not only embed the modernistic element to the local traditional culture, but also persevered in a developmental pattern of which the ethnic groups could adopt autonomously and participate adequately, we will gain the efficient path that could ensure the lasting political stability of the land border areas of China.
