In the studies of school improvement, many theoretical researches and school reforms show that classroom construction plays an important role in promoting school improvement. In recent years, the excellent classroom construction has been put forward and become the focus of classroom research. Based on the achievement in the past, this paper aims to reorganize and definite the historical background, research trend and certain concept, analyze the relationship between excellent classroom construction and school improvement from the school culture construction, principals’leadership construction, teachers’professional development and students’ subjective participation and so on. Then this paper analysis the problem existing in the progress and gives some corresponding advice, in order to offer some suggestion for elementary schools.This paper selects an urban primary school(X primary school) in Chongqing as a case and integrated uses the research methods of document analysis, interview and observation to reveal the process and mechanism of X primary school improvement by excellent classroom construction.at last, this paper put forward some corresponding strategy according to certain problems. This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is about the introduction. It includes the reason for topic choosing, research status and review, and related concept definition. These are the basis of the study.The second part is the research design and process.it includes the research purpose, research hypothesis, research meanings, research thoughts and the reason for choosing the case school. This part also includes the process of materials collection and a brief introduction of X primary school.The third part is about the exploration of how to promote school improvement by excellent classroom construction at Chongqing X primary school. In this part, through training excellent teachers, constructing school culture and cultivating excellent students, excellent classroom construction cause some changes on the principals’ effective leading, teachers’ professional ability, school culture construction and students’ subjective participation. It improves that excellent classroom construction plays o positive role in promoting school improvement.The fourth part is about the internal mechanism of promoting school improvement by excellent classroom construction.in this part, it analyzes the school improvement mechanism from the internal energy and external support. The internal energy includes determine of shared vision, enhancement of teaching quality, the construction of school leadership, teachers’ professional development and students’ subjective participation. The external support includes educational administrative departments, university partners, and cooperation with the community and family.The fifth part is about the problems in the process of school improvement and corresponding strategies. The problems includes school’s seeking quick success and instant benefits, poor participation of some teachers, poor developing of education information technology resources, unilateral school-family cooperation, lack of scientific supervision mechanism, etc. The strategies include guiding school combing the correct values; establish the learning organization and scientific supervision mechanism, etc.On the whole, though the investigation of the case school, this paper analyzes the influence and effect of constructing excellent classroom on school improvement, summarizes the internal mechanism of school improvement, and raises some strategies for the problems in the process.
