Love is an eternal topic of mankind, and loving is also an important part of students’ life in university. The romantic relationship brings a lot of happiness to individuals, at the same time, skills are also required to maintain such long-term relationships. The purpose of this study is to construct the questionnaire about female college students’ skills of maintaining romantic relationships, and to analysis the characteristics of these skills. Exactly speaking, the skills of maintaining romantic relationships refer to the abilities of making the romantic relationship better,such as getting revolved in,adapting,developing,coordinating and disposing romantic relationships.Romantic relationship maintaining skills are special social skills. Combining with the information from Focus Group Interview and the previous related open-ended questionnaire, this study constructed the questionnaire about female college students’ skills of maintaining romantic relationships with reference to previous researches of social skills and intimate relationships.This study consists of two parts. The first part is about how to construct the questionnaire. The preliminary questionnaire is made out according to the analysis of Focus Group Interview and the related open-ended questionnaire. By means of distinguishing and analyzing the invalid data and testing its reliability and validity based on the preliminary questionnaire, the final contents of the questionnaire were confirmed to formalize a final questionnaire. In the second part, we selected 568 female college students in three universities as the research subjects to test their skills of maintaining romantic relationships by filling in this self-made questionnaire. The result shows that urban female students do significantly better than those rural female students; the only child does significantly better than those who are not; those who have better family relationships(including father-daughter relationship, mother-daughter relationship and parental relationship) do significantly better than those who have ordinary family relationships; the female students who are being in love do significantly better than the others; and the skills are enhanced with the increasing number of how many times they have been in love, and the female students who have been in love for three or more than three times do significantly better than those with two times or less.Conclusions of this study:Firstly, the questionnaire has good reliability and validity. Its model structure is reasonable.Secondly, the skills consist of four basic elements: self-awareness skills, communication skills, emotion management skills and problem solving skills.Thirdly, according to the the statistic of the questionnaire,overall level of these skills in female students is a little bit stronger than moderate level. Along the four factors, the order is emotion management skills,self-awareness skills,problem solving skills and communication skills ranging from strong to weak.Finally, the female college students’ romantic relationship maintenance skills associate with origin of students, if she is the only child or not, family relationships, love experience.
