Study On Characteristics Of Rise And Fall Of Tai Chi And Current Development Strategies

Tai Chi is a traditional ethnic martial art with a long history which possesses fitness value, entertainment function and educational value. It is of great significance to develop Tai Chi for inheriting national martial arts and carry forward the traditional culture. Currently, Tai Chi is facing development bottlenecks impacted by foreign sports and lack of development and innovation. This paper hopes to sort out the historical development of Tai Chi and find the law of development of Tai Chi, to provide a solution to the current development and promote the rapid development of Tai chi at present.This paper takes the history of Tai Chi as a research object, sorts out the history of Tai Chi based on literature, historical research and logical analysis, analyzes and summarizes political, economic and cultural factors that affect the development of Tai Chi in different historic stages. The research results indicate that:1.Tai chi has been growing up since it was born between the Ming and Qing dynasties, and its development process is tortuous: the "period of decline" for Tai Chi development includes the late Republic of China and the Cultural Revolution, while the "silver age" for Tai Chi development includes Ming and Qing Dynasties, the early and middle Republic of China, the early PRC and the reform and opening period.2.Politics is an important guarantee for the development of Tai Chi: political stability creates a good environment for the Tai Chi development, political support provides legal protection for the development of Tai Chi and political openness promotes international communication of Tai Chi, while Tai Chi provides services for political development.3.Economics is an external driving force for Tai Chi development, economic development provides multiple transmission routes and rich material foundation for the development of Tai Chi, while industrial development of Tai Chi promotes the overall development of the economy.4.Culture is the internal driving force of the development of Tai Chi: traditional culture is the soil Tai Chi lives by, and diverse and innovative culture provides direct driving force for the development of Tai Chi culture, while the development of Tai Chi culture enriches the national culture and promotes the spread of traditions culture.5. The development of Tai Chi is closely related to politics, economy and culture, but the lack of any factors will have a negative impact on the development of Tai Chi.Further analysis on political, economic, cultural characteristics in the rise and fall periods of Tai Chi shows:1.In a “silver age” of Tai Chi, the political status was stable and united while Tai Chi enjoyed policy support, the country was opening to the outside world, the economy developed rapidly, the culture was diverse and academic study was free and innovative;2. In Tai Chi decline period, the political status was in turmoil and abruption, closed, and economy was destroyed, and the culture was authoritarian and destructed.In accordance with the current political, economic, cultural and social background, this paper proposes the development strategies for Tai Chi as follows:1.Political aspect: on the premise of political stability and unity, to get a further development, we should not only attract people in, but also be active to spread it by ourselves, strengthen external communication and establish Tai Chi culture communication network around the world; we also should strengthen the policy and regulation support for the development of Tai Chi industry.2.Economic aspect: with the rapid economic development of China’, we can provide the basic material security for Tai Chi development; in order to promote the development of Tai Chi, we should take advantage of the economy which is the most active factor in the development of Tai Chi at present to promote the Tai Chi industry development.3. Culture aspect: the current free and active culture status is very beneficial to the dissemination of Tai Chi, but the current development of Tai Chi culture is rootless and lack of innovation, we should inherit the tradition of Tai Chi culture and strengthen the innovation, which is the only way to promote the rapid development of Tai Chi culture.
