The British philosopher Bacon said "Histories make men wise". Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty said "learning from the past, one can know the rise and fall". In order to learn chemistry, we must first understand the history of chemistry development.Although the new curriculum reform has been carried out for more than ten years and achieved certain results, but due to the lag of the reform of the college entrance examination system, it is still an era "to score on heroes". The status quo of focusing on knowledge rather than ability is very difficult to change. Because the knowledge of chemistry history is not the key point for university entrance exam, it is generically mentioned in the current high school chemistry teaching. And in the present teaching books there is just a reading passages in the writing or a photo of chemists at most, which is very difficult to arouse the interest of students, not to mention to induce students into deep understanding.With the development of technology, multimedia teaching equipment has been assembled into the classroom by most schools, which can be used with more diverse teaching modes. In order to arouse the students’interest in chemistry history, I tried to introduce video teaching, but now the videos of chemical history are mostly documentaries produced by BBC or Discovery, which is too long for class use, and the focus is not prominent. I learned to make use of the popular video production technology, selected and recombined the contents of the documentary to produce 2 to 8 minutes of middle school chemistry micro videos based on the history of chemistry, and used them in classroom teaching.Based on the literature review, this study made the use of six chemical history contents involved in high school chemistry textbook Chemistry 1 and Chemistry 2, namely, Hler synthesis of urea, the evolution of atomic structure model, Hou Debang and Hou’s process for soda production, German chemist Haber synthetic ammonia, Mendeleev found the periodic table of elements, Kekule discovered structure of benzene, to make six micro videos for the use in the classroom teaching. After teaching, according to the teaching contents, students were tested based on the "history of chemistry knowledge". In addition, "Questionnaire of history of Chemistry Learning" was made from three aspects of the knowledge and skill, process and method, emotion attitude and values to understand the influence of high school chemistry micro video teaching based on chemistry histories on the student’s learning of chemistry history. Through statistical analysis of the questionnaire, the conclusion was drawn as the following:I:the qualitative study results1. It put forward the evaluation index system in middle school chemistry history learning.2. It found that there are four difficulties in middle school chemistry history micro video production and teaching based on chemistry history:(1) Difficulty in the collection and processing of chemical history materials(2) Difficulty in selection of micro video materials and production process(3) Difficulty in the selection of appropriate chemistry histories into teaching methods(4) Difficulty in the practical implementation of chemistry history into teachingII:The quantitative research conclusion1. Integrating middle school chemistry history micro video based on chemistry history into teaching had no significant effect on the learning of chemistry knowledge for students.2. Integrating middle school chemistry history micro video based on chemistry history into teaching had significant effect on the students to improve scientific and humanistic literacy and to form correct scientific concept.3. Integrating middle school chemistry history micro video based on chemistry history into teaching had an effect on the cultivation of students’ scientific attitude, to stimulate interest in learning and to improve the scientific quality to the desired level.Combined with the research results and his own experience, the researcher puts forward the following suggestions:1. Suggestions on the curriculum management(1) Pre-service curriculum management:the course of chemistry history should be offered in Chemical Education Specialty in normal universities to strengthen the understanding of the history of chemistry for normal school students.(2) Post-service curriculum management:According to the middle school textbook contents and the teaching outline requirements, the teachers should be given technical training so as to make simple middle school chemistry micro videos based on the history of chemistry, and learn to combine with class teaching.2. Suggestions on textbooks and teaching aids(1) Textbooks:Appropriate increase of chemistry history knowledge in the middle school chemistry teaching materials may let the students understand the history of chemistry development, the formation of chemical knowledge, and the chemical development have experienced a long and winding road. It is accompanied by the progress of human society and development, ana1 it is the inevitable result of social development. Its development promotes the development of productive forces, as well as promotes the advance of history.(2) Teaching aid:Combined with the middle school chemistry teaching materials, the history of chemistry micro videos related to the contents are developed and set up database to provide convenience for chemistry history teaching.3. Suggestions on teaching methodTeachers should strengthen the study on chemistry history into teaching and develop the teaching cases, to explore the suitable teaching method and form the teaching theory.
