Over 65 years ago, Mongolia and China established diplomatic relation. With the development of the relations between two countries, we can clearly see the craze of learning Chinese in Mongolia. In order to meet the demand, some Mongolian schools offer Chinese language courses. After English, Chinese become the second largest language in Mongolia. But the most learners with no attitude in learning Chinese and even some Chinese learners have no interest with the course.When primary school aged students learning Chinese,there is some difficulty on study. Mongolian public primary schools have 2-4 Chinese classes a week, the single class is for 40 minutes, so the class time is very limited. The characteristics of the child is lively, the time concentrate is very short. To teach Chinese under demand of Chinese situation, teachers not only should consider students can understand teaching contents, but also taking into account the enhancement of students learning interest, enthusiasm and effectiveness. In order to achieve the goal of teaching, we can combine Chinese songs and Chinese teaching. In Chinese teaching, singing Chinese songs will help them to understand and consolidate Chinese knowledge, improve the ability of Chinese, and study preliminary knowledge of the history, culture and local customs of China. Using Chinese songs when teaching Chinese is a good to promote learning and edutainment.This thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, mainly introduces the significance of the topic, and songs associated with the second language teaching research and the related research work. Including research content and research methods; the second chapter is about the role of songs in foreign language learning. Includes the role in emotional aspects, the role in cognitive aspects and the role of learning aspects; the third chapter is investigation and analysis of using songs within chinese language teaching. Including two parts, the first part is the design of questionnaire and the second part is the result and analysis of survey. In this thesis,126 students of the capital city of Mongolia are the research object, learners chinese learning situation, application of chinese songs when teaching chinese in primary schools and students’ suggestions in the proposed survey, using questionnaire and statistical analysis; the fourth chapter is the analysis of Mongolian primary school’s Chinese language textbook. Including contents analysis, lexical analysis, grammatical and sentential form analysis and cultural analysis. In this thesis, analyzed Mongolian the most commonly used Chinese textbook Happy Chinese1 from the four angles of textbook content, vocabulary, grammar and cultural content. The fifth chapter is about applied use of songs when teaching chinese in Mongolian primary schools. Including standard of songs selection, the application method of Chinese songs, in classroom activities the way of practice Chinese songs and design and application of the song adaptation. Finally, according to the characteristics of Mongolian primary school students’ language proficiency, learning content, teaching purpose adapted songs.
