Nowadays, paper-based Picture Exchange Communication System(PECS),which has a systematic teaching protocol,is widely used to Promote the communication behaviors of Autistic Children.With the improvement of technologies,i Pad can also be used as an Augmentative and Alternative Communication Device,this is a emerging trend.i Pad screen can display images,which can be used as picture exchange communication, this is the same as traditional PECS.Otherwise, i Pad can overcome some shortcomings of PECS,such as time-consuming, not convenient to carry,limited storage position and so on.As a high-tech communication device,i Pad is very different from low-tech PECS,when touch the images on the screen of i Pad,there is a voice output.As a newly emerging communication, there is no systematic training protocol.So Combine PECS teaching protocol and i Pad device is a New idea which is worth investigate.this study,firstly, summarize the sameness and differences of PECS and i Pad-based PECS, mainly include communication symbols, communication devices,communication technologies and communication strategies. Then according to PECS teaching protocols,develop i Pad-based PECS teaching protocols.Then Use the Training Protocols to promote the communication behaviors of two autistic children,evaluate the Learning effectiveness.The study have three Purposes:1)Develop a i Pad-based PECS Training Protocol;2)using multiple baseline across participants Designs to verify the learning effectiveness of the i Pad-based PECS training Protocol to decide whether i Pad-based PECS training protocol is a effective protocol or not;3)Based the empirical study,summarize the general methods of the i Pad-based training Protocol,and bring out some suggestions.Research data analysis include visual analysis and Inductive Method to analyze.The results of this study as follows:1)Comparing PECS Training Protocol,i Pad-based communication symbols,devices,technique,and strategies have some common points, can use the basic ways of PECS to develop i Pad-based training protocol;2)Phase I,II,III of the i Pad SGD training Protocol is effective to both participants,but the effectiveness is affected by the fine movement and attention of theAutistic Children;3)i Pad-based Training Protocol is a effective,can be used for similar pa rt i ci pant s; 4) Wh en de s ign a te achi ng pr ogram, we mus t ta ke the option of apps and interface making into account;5)When implement this training protocol, we must take the change of communication skills and teaching methods into account.
