The Problem Research On The Home Schooling Children Socialization

Even though homeschooling in China enjoys a pretty short history and rather small scale, it has made a sensation and attracted tremendous attention from domestic newspapers and internet presses for its controversy. In 2013, homeschooling even became one of Annual Words selected by 21th Century Education Research Institute. However, the present researches about homeschooling in China are very feeble. The socialization of homeschooling children has received extensive social attention, and the public hold different opinions about this issue. Meanwhile, related researches carried out by the academic community are very feeble. With the study applied, this dissertation chooses a child who has been schooling at home from kindergarten age as the research object, probes into the child’s socialization at a deep level and analyzes the development mechanism of the socialization. This paper aims to offer some references about homeschooling children’s socialization.In addition to the introduction, the main body of this dissertation is constituted of four parts.The first part analyzes the theoretical basis and dimension of the socialization of home-schooling children.The second part tells the socialization story of homeschooling children by showing the their learning, social roles, social regulations, social interactions, life skills, temperament, character of behaviors, self-awareness and life goals etc., and tries to analyze the educational ideology and philosophy in the story.The third part would further analyze the contributing factors of home schooling children’s socialization through the case study. Inside reasons determine the development of stuff. That is to say, the child’s socialization is decided by physical qualifications, mentality, learning capacities and mental regulation abilities etc. Outside reasons are the conditions influence the development of stuff. From outside conditions, this paper makes an analysis and statement about family factors, mass media of communication, peer group and policy environment.The fourth part puts forward with detailed solutions to develop the socialization level of homeschooling children from three aspects:the family, the society and the children themselves.
