The purpose of this study was to investigate the status and feedback of music teachers’working at the primary and middle public schools in Shanghai in China. The main content contained 1. working conditions,2. perception of job satification,and 3.job engagement.The questionnaire survey and convenience sampling were applied. Subjects for this study were 131 music teachers at the primary and middle schools in Shanghai. The research tools consisted of "The Questionnaire of Music Teachers’Working Conditions" designed by the researcher, and "The Scale of Job Involvement" adapted by Zhang,Y.W. and Gan, Y.Q. (2005) from Schaufeli and other’s UWES. The dad were collected and analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test and one- way ANOVA.The results indicated as follows: 1. working donditions(1) The intensity of work of elementary and middle schools music teachers is heavy Teachers’ Continuing Education based on skill training. Teachers want to participate in arts training.(2) Most of schools can provide a good working environment; Good working environment,it is the main reason that teachers worked in their school.(3) Devotion to education, is the main reason of teacher’s professional development; The main three factors:occupation, family factors and traffic problems, affect the teachers’resignation. Part-time teacher of small. The number of music teachers part-time ratio of 20%.(4) There are significant differences in the "participation in municipal competitions" on different areas of the teachers; there are significant differences in the number of part-time and open class teachers of different teaching experience. 2. Feedback(1) As far as perception of job satification, music teachers in primary and middle schools in Shanghai, working experience value is general, the feelings of teachers teaching the best value. There is no significant difference between different regions of the teachers. There are significant differences in workload, interpersonal relationship, study, treatment experience on different teaching music teacher: the experience of 21-30 years of teachers’work intensity of the highest and most dissatisfied with the treatment experience;the experience of 11-15 years of teachers are satisfied with training and interpersonal interpersonal relationship.(2) AS far job engagement, music teachers’ job engagement level is good, which offer the highest degree.There was no significant difference between different regions of the teachers in the job engagement; but the groups of teachers, job engagement have significant differences, which age below 5 years of teachers, the highest level of job engagement.
