Dyslexia is one kind of specific learning disability. Compared with normal children, not only do dyslexia children face learning difficulties, they also have more problems in aspects of behavior, emotions, etc, which might affect their future life. The research of dyslexia children by social work is meaningful. On the one hand, it helps dyslexia children improve their academic performance and maintain their mental health; on the other hand it has positive significance in broadening the field of social work, and enriching local theory and practice of it.This paper takes dyslexia children who are the service objects of L Social Work Service Center in Z city as research objects. By adopting methodologies including literature research method, questionnaire, interview and observation, the researcher was able to gain research data needed for the study. The researcher started from the comprehensive exploration of the cause of dyslexia and its correction methods by other disciplines. Based on strength perspective and system theory, the researcher together with follow workers used three main methods of professional social work to intervene in dyslexia children. By using community work, the social workers hoped to advocate the public to create a good environment for dyslexia children and integrate community resources to promote public support for them. By using group work, the social workers tried to create a relaxing atmosphere in learning literacy skills for dyslexia children, which was useful to improve their self-confidence and learning interests. And an opportunity was created for parents to communicate, which will enhance family system’s care and supportiveness for dyslexia children. Combined with case work, case counseling and guidance were given to some dyslexia children whose problems were typical. Literacy skills training were give priority to them.The social workers also intervene in their family and school systems in order to help dyslexia children. During this process, the researcher developed analysis and exploration of social work practice on dyslexia children of individuals, families and schools. In addition, the evaluation which includes assessment of staffs, the activities contents, etc. was taken to evaluate the process and effect of intervention, after which the reacher was able to summarize and explore the experience of social work practice on dyslexia children.The social work intervene in dyslexia children had made some effects. During the process of practice, social workers uphold the values of social work and integrated professional methods of interdisciplinary and social work to help dyslexia children. First, the literacy skills of dyslexia children were improved to certain extent. Secondly, the public’s basic understanding of dyslexia children has also changed. Thirdly, the supportiveness for dyslexia children from society was improved. But there also exist many difficulties during the practice:including service dilemma; lacking of policy support; and the professional predicament of social work.
