Research On Social Work’s Intervention Of Prisoner’s Children Whose Father Is Absent

In recent years, our state has enacted a series of laws , regulations and policies for the protection of children. The importance of children’s protection and their development has become a social consensus. City L has been actively exploring the pilot work of social protection of children.The children of prisoners are important subjects of social protection ,but our observations in the City’s Third Prison,and the City Center for the Protection of Minors showed that they generally have serious psychological problems and life difficulties.Prisoners are not only lack of communication with their children,but also are absent in their education and life.To help these special children and provide professional services of social care for them,Minors Social Protection Service Center of City L launched the "Guardian Angel" service project.Through the case study of the "Guardian Angel" service project,this study thoroughly explores the social work intervention of the "absence of father’s education" of the children of the inmates,and study their specific performance and related needs of the the children whose fathers are absent、 social work intervention process、advantages,deficiencies,causes and suggestions of Social Work Intervention in the"absence of father’s education",and discussions from the individual,family,community and government levels to respond to and meet the needs of clients.The study revealed that,because of the absence of father’s education,the children of the prisoners have faced, problems in parent-child communication,the absence of father’s education,interpersonal problems,family tensions and serious economic hardship.Without social work intervention, the needs of the clients cannot be satisfied.Based on the in-depth study of the service project,the author put forward that we should pay attention to the individual advantages of the minors children of prisoners,to encourage the development of these children;and we should pay attention to the re-link of the broken family relationship;at the same time,we can integrate community resources and play the service role of school and social organization.Moreover,to ensure the development of the children of prisoners,the society should improve the social assistance mechanism and the social security system.
