In early twentieth Century, USA scholars had put forward the concept "teacher as researcher. The researchers not only become the inevitable trend of the professional development of teachers, but also can promote their daily teaching reflection of how to live in a better educational significance. Study of primary school teachers is to study how to make their every teaching activity full of the meaning of education, how to realize the significance of education on their students. Thus making the study fully integrated into the teaching activities of teachers daily, and as a whole.Over the past 100 years, have the primary school teachers become researchers? Are there obstacles on their road towards researchers? Why? And how do they become researchers? These issues constitute the main content of this thesis.The first chapter of this thesis is on interpretation on teachers "understanding" about scientific research by the open questionnaire survey of 120 primary school teachers. The teachers’ understanding of scientific research can be divided into three types after code analysis of the questionnaire results.1.Primary school scientific research plays a positive role in teaching as "staff";2.Primary school scientific research has become too formal and the extra burden of primary school teachers, just like "chicken ribs";3.The role of scientific research is affected by the teachers’ attitudes. Then, the thesis has selected a primary school teacher H in M District of Shanghai, and chosen H’ scientific research as a case for further analysis. The survey found that primary school teachers have research needs, also carried out some researches. But they lack of systematic methods and consciousness of scientific research.The second chapter interprets the primary school teachers’ misunderstandings in research and difficulties during the action, and to analyze the possible causes. The analysis results show that they regard scientific research as finishing a program, writing articles, and researches are like "plastic flowers". In the action, the primary school teachers are in action research on similar but lack of clear metacognitive. There lacks of appropriate training and guidance in writing articles, too. These problems are closely related to teaches’ simple and repeated life, lack of research ability and limited and broken time.According to their understandings of research and practical problems, the third chapter puts forward some suggestions.1.Correct primary school teachers’ misunderstanding about research by rethinking research in scientific way and effective training; 2. Seize problems in repeated daily work through keeping curiosity and reflection; 3. Learn to do and write in the study and seek help in cooperation.
