A Study On Quality Assurance System Of Internationalization Of Higher Education In UK

The internationalization of higher education is one of the basic trends indevelopment of higher education in the world, governments and universities all takeactive measures to promote the internationalization process. Britain as the worldleader, has made great achievements,especially on collaborative provision andinternational students, this is because of its high education quality.The UK hasestablished a mature quality system,and effectively guarantee the quality ofcollaborative provision and international students. This paper which is based of document study and text analysis, study on qualityassurance system of internationalization of higher education in UK. The QualityAssurance can be divided into internal and external parts.In the internal qualityassurance system,universities set up quality assurance institutions, develop theunified quality handbook. Including three methods,that is,subject review, internalaudit and external examiner system.In the external quality assurance system,Government,Quality Assurance Agency and other institutions guarantee the quality ofinternational students and collaborative provision.QAA is responsible for overseascollaborative provision,according to Collaborative Provision and flexible anddistributed learning,audit the collaborative degree programs.The external qualityassurance plays a fundamental role,the focus of the external quality assurance systemis to check and guide the standardization and effectiveness of the internal qualityassurance mechanism. Within the UK, the combination of internal and externalquality assurance system has the following characteristics, namely:the participants isdiverse,the bridge between social intermediary organizations, attach importance tostudents’ interests and quality assurance standards is the core. China should learn fromthe UK on the aspect of collaborative provision,international students.
