As an evaluation method of curriculum, College Entrance Examination plays an increasingly critical role in Senior High School Chinese teaching. The study will focus on the classical Chinese reading test of the College Entrance Examination in Shanghai for past five years, analyze the development and the topic criteria of it, and summarize their characteristics.Furthermore, according to the current situation of classical Chinese teaching in senior high school, this essay will analyze the relationship between the classical Chinese Teaching process and the potential trends of classical Chinese reading in College Entrance Examination.This paper is divided into four parts. The first part analyzes the development and the topic criteria of the classical Chinese reading test in recent five years’ Shanghai Exams, and summarizes their characteristics. Next, three sections(memory writing, poetry critical thinking and comprehensive reading) of the classical Chinese reading test in recent five years’ Shanghai Exams are illustrated from three sub-parts, types and quantitative; measurement target and capability requirements; difficulty and separating capacity of the questions. Daily teaching and learning situation of the Classical Chinese in senior high school is discussed in the third part. Last, based on the existing problem, this paper will put forward several pertinent suggestions, aiming to help the future classical Chinese reading test of the College Entrance Examination, and to the writings in classical style teaching in senior high school.
