Mobile communication technology has developed rapidly. Mobile learning as a new channel of education starts to gradually penetrate into people’s everyday life with the widespread application of digital learning. Mobile learning eliminates time and location constraints from traditional education system and provides students a unique learning experience anytime and anywhere. Students may now make use of daily spare time to realise real self-education. Mobile learning’s asynchronized feature of time and location breaks the interactive relationship between teachers and students and therefore interactive design is extremely vital in the research of mobile learning. Mobile learning is digitised through the use of mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets. University students are natively the core target group of mobile learning. This article is based on a common university student course “Computer fundamental”to design and develop an interactive learning platform built with Android system.In theory, this article discusses and analyses the current research and theory of mobile learning and interaction both in China and overseas. Using “Computer fundamental” course analysis, user characteristics and platform requirements, an interactive learning platform design has been proposed. Server side back end management system and client side Android system functions have been realised along with a user interface diagram.Implementation based on the design and user interface diagram mentioned above has been successfully realised. The interaction platform user interface layout has been implemented with modern technologies to develop an Android client side application based on “Computer fundamental” course and the back end management system is completely web based. Server side back end and client side application are capable of transmitting data in both directions.This platform’s client side application realises 5 main mobules in user registration/login, chapter learning, announcements, simulated tests and forum interaction. Learners may use the mobile learning application to access the platform and selectively utilises mobile resources based on the navigation. Teachers and students as well as students and students may communicate both ways through forum threads and replies. The back end management system realises lessons, announcements, messages and administrator modules. Teachers can upload, browse, modify and delete learning resources(lessons) as well as publish announcements and manage student accounts.
