Integration of humanistic care and psychological counseling is one of the current development trend of the ideological and political education, its essence is that educators pay close attention to the survival and development of college students fully, do care about people, love people, understand people, respect people, its core content is people-oriented, reflects the respect and care for students, and the basic connotation is to emphasize the subjectivity of college students. The integration of humanistic care and psychological counseling does accord with the objective law of development of ideological and political education, comply with the era characteristic of social transformation, and is the objective requirement of implementation of scientific outlook on development and building a harmonious university. The integration has important significance to improve the actual effect of ideological and political education in colleges and universities, and to promote students’ overall health of body and mind development.However, the current ideological and political education of domestic colleges and universities is just missing in the integration of humanistic care and psychological counseling. Part of educators are contrary to the principle of teaching students in accordance of their aptitude, lack of consensus about students’ main body status on the concept of education, and cannot fully respect students’ diverse demand on the education target, so as to make the education content break away from the students’ real life. If we investigate its reason, we will find that "people-oriented" concept is not respected in the domestic colleges and universities, professional teachers to carry out the humanistic care and psychological counseling are absent, and the education influence of emotional education, network education, cultural education and activity education is defective. At the same time, the conflict of values caused by social transformation increased the difficulty to realize the integration.Therefore, ideological and political educators should unswervingly implement the education idea of "people-oriented", pay attention to combine care services and education guide, personality development and social demands, network guide and realistic counseling. Besides, we should set up a "four one" mental health education system and a full range of care channel network, and build a good hardware environment and software environment for the integration of humanistic care and psychological counseling through a high quality ideological and political education team and campus culture with high centripetal force.
