The concept map is a kind of visualized structure diagram of knowledge. Learners can organize knowledge with the concept map, as well as finding and solving problems. The concept map is a useful tool of teaching and learning. However, the current researchable situation of the concept map in practice, especially the research in elementary mathematics teaching is not positive. The function of teaching plays an important role in elementary mathematics teaching, current researchable situation is the turning point between the constant mathematics and the variable mathematics. So, in this paper, the concept map strategy is introduced into the teaching of function in junior high school. Through an elaborate design process, this paper explores the application value of concept map in the teaching of function in junior high school.This paper is divided into three parts. The first part is the theoretical overview of the research of concept map. This part mainly introduces the theoretical basis of concept map and the existing research of application in teaching. The second part is the research design and the survey before experiment. This part mainly introduces tools, methods and steps of the experimental research, as well as analyzing the current situation of the function teaching in junior high school. The last part analyzes the experimental results with the information and data from teaching practice using concept map strategy. The conclusions are drawn finally from two aspects which are teachers and students.The main conclusions include:â‘  The teaching of function with the concept map strategy in junior high school helps the students to some degree, especially the medium level students.â‘¡ The teaching of function with the concept map strategy in junior high school helps to remember and understand knowledge. But it had little effect on the application of knowledge.â‘¢ Concept map strategy is more suitable for the review classes.â‘£ Concept map strategy can evaluate the knowledge structure of students effectively.Research findings show that it has certain feasibility and validity to use concept map strategy in the teaching of function in junior high school.
