The Research Of Junior High School’s Quadratic Function Teaching Strategy Under The New Curriculum Background

The quadratic function has an important position in the three kinds of function that are learned in junior high school. It is not only a necessary content of senior high school entrance examination, but also the foundation of high school function. It is a link between the preceding and the following. And the quadratic function also plays a very important role in many fields of social life. Learning the quadratic function well is important for high school learning and other disciplines.This paper summarized the difficulties of learning and teaching quadratic function in junior high school by referring to the corresponding literature,making a survey of students from Grade Nine and also math teachers from Grade Nine. These difficulties came from three aspects: the abstraction of function knowledge; the limitations of the students’ original cognitive levels; the simplicity of teachers’ teaching methods. Then this paper analyzed the reasons for these difficulties combining with the teaching practice, and then found the breakthrough to these difficulties and the corresponding teaching strategies from the requirement for teaching quadratic function needed by the new curriculum standard, the rationality and development of the math teaching material content arrangement of the ECNU edition, the cognitive level for quadratic function of the students in junior high school, the score distribution statistical analysis of the senior high school entrance examination in recent years and the priorities of math thinking methods in tests of quadratic function. It provided suitable teaching design for the three-classes, and also advice for the quadratic function teaching especially for the preparation of senior high school entrance examination and the connection between junior high and senior high.Next, this paper contrasted the reasons why students had problems learning quadratic function, then came the author’s own ideas as follows. Advise students to attach great importance to the foundation; to understand the process and connotation of the concept of function; to improve the ability of reading analysis;to correct learning attitude; to better understand the quadratic function on the basis of experience in daily life, and to form the habit of reviewing and integrating old and new knowledge.At last, aiming at solving the difficulties teaching the quadratic function,the author put forward some teaching strategies from knowledge, skills and attitude combing teaching practice, the guidance of new curriculum standard and the features of the ECNU edition of teaching material; 1. Adapting to the new curriculum reform, and changing the concept of learning and teaching; 2.Exploring the nature of function and paying attention to the basic concepts of knowledge and its forming process; 3. Mining function connotation, training students’ abilities and strengthening the consciousness of math; 4. Stimulating the learning motivation, improving the learning efficiency, and creating classrooms of high efficiency; 5. Grasping the important and difficult points,taking the test successfully, and completing the connection between junior high and senior high.
