The Social Work Intervention Of The Floating Children’s Urban Adaptability

Migration way from a "single type" "couples" to "the family migration type", formed the group of floating children. They leave home to live in unfamiliar environment and has not yet established or improved the social support networks. And they face a series of questions to adapt the live of the new city. These cause the poor adaption to the urban situation. In this background, this topic through theory instruction and the use of professional method of social work, to analyze the present situation of floating children in city and use group working methods to realize the ascension of floating children’s urban adaptability.This topic’s research objects are from Lou Feng School in Lou Feng street of Su Zhou.We select 30 from 200 floating children randomly. This topic use questionnaires and interviews to understand the basic adaptive situation of floating children in city, including identity, psychological feelings, interpersonal relationship, adaptation of learning and environmental adaptation, etc.,.and then analysis the realistic requirement of floating children. On the basis of needs assessment to draw "child one day" project intervention programme, and the implementation of the project. Finally to evaluate project implementation situation, to evaluate the role of social work at improving floating children’s urban applicability.
