In 2001, the Ministry of Education published the outline of Curriculum reform of basic education(for trial implementation), defined curriculum reform goals, developed standards for each discipline, the curriculum reform of elementary education fully implements. The curriculum implementation is the key to the curriculum reform, but the change of textbooks is the first level of curriculum implementation.Textbooks are the important carrier of the school curriculum and instruction, and an important way to achieve the targets, they are the beginning of the curriculum implementation. The outline clearly stated that National Curriculum Standards are the basis for textbooks’ compiling; textbook content should conform to the standard’s requirements. Meanwhile, Mathematics Curriculum Standard of the compulsory education in 2011 says:“Mathematics textbooks’ compiling should be based on this standard. We should highlight the uniqueness of compiling, and actively explore the diversity of textbooks.” So according to the Mathematics Curriculum Standard’s requirements, the current math textbooks also realized their “diversity”. However, only the mathematics textbooks align to the Curriculum Standard, textbooks can help teachers understand and grasp the Curriculum Standard’s requirements, and help teachers teach better. At present, the evaluation of t mathematics textbooks’ quality is an urgent issue to solve. At present, the mathematics textbooks for primary schools compiled on the curriculum standards has been promoted and used in the country. How do the textbooks reflect the Standard’s requirement, whether there is an alignment between the different versions of the textbooks and the Curriculum Standard’s requirements or not ? Based on the above question, the basic problem of this study is the analysis on the alignment of mathematics textbooks for primary schools and the Curriculum Standard, primarily from a static perspective and comparative analysis of the textbooks and the Curriculum Standard. Through the study of the alignment between textbooks and the Curriculum Standards, the comment and suggestion for textbooks’ revision and perfection will be put forward. This study is divided into four parts. The first part is an introduction mainly describing the study’s background, problems, goals, contents, meaning, ideas, methods and theoretical framework of the study. The second part is the basic theory of the study, including the related concept defining and the literature review. The related concept defining of the study mainly involves the connotation of the curriculum standards, the connotation of textbooks, the relationship between textbook and textbooks, the relationship between textbooks and Curriculum Standards, the connotation of alignment and textbooks’ evaluation; the literature review of the study mainly introduces the research status on the textbooks’ evaluation both at home and abroad, the research status on the alignment of the textbooks and Curriculum Standards, the research overview on the related theory of mathematics learning and the analysis on the curriculum goal and content in Mathematics Curriculum Standard of compulsory education in 2011.The third part includes the analysis on alignment of textbooks and Curriculum Standard. With the mathematics textbooks for primary schools in 1-6 grade of the BNU and PEP edition as an example, this study analyzes the alignment of textbooks and Curriculum Standard from the breadth, depth and difficulty of the curriculum in the areas of number and algebra, graph and geometry, statistics and probability. The fourth part includes the conclusions and recommendations. Based on the study of the alignment between the mathematics textbooks of BNU,PEP edition and Curriculum Standard. The conclusion can be drawn: the textbooks and the Curriculum Standards has a better alignment on the breadth and depth of the curriculum, but there is not a better alignment on the difficulty of the curriculum.Based on this conclusion, this study put forward some specific recommendations for the revision and improvement of the textbooks: when we compile the textbooks, we should properly understand the idea of the mathematics curriculum, accurately grasp the requirements of the mathematics curriculum’s goal, follow students’ mathematics learning law.
