In 2012, Massive Open Online Courses, known as MOOC, aiming for the public emerged rapidly. This undoubtedly brings unlimited vitality and hope to the field of education. Along the introduction and popularization of the three giants, Cousera, Edx and Udacity in massive open online education area, MOOC became increasingly well-known in mainland China. Although currently most MOOC in China supports standard function such as online video lessons, forums, the evaluation of the learners and the ability of passing feedback still has a long way to go. In order to achieve better learning effects and to meet the diverse learning needs, by studying history of oversea and domestic MOOC, and finding insufficient of MOOC in China, combining with the latest theory and research, this paper is trying to optimize the design and realization of our MOOC functional modules. Thus the MOOC that is based on the theory of learning object emerged. Meanwhile, the MOOC curriculum model constructed in this study, which is based on the theory of learning object, also provides a suitable model framework and practical guidance for the relevant research of MOOC.This paper is constructed using five sections:First is to illustrate the importance and necessity of this study from the MOOC storms and practicability of the learning object theory. Through study of the overseas and domestic research status of MOOC, we make clear of our research goal, significance and the framework of this study.The second is to define the basic concepts and theoretical basis. This section analyses and defines the key concepts involving in research and comprehensive discusses,and introduces guiding ideology and theory of research in detail.For the third section, we analyzes the characteristic of teaching component based on the theory of learning object. Combining curriculum process of Networking Academy in Jiangnan University and COUSERA curriculum model, we design the optimized MOOC design pattern MOOC based on learning object theory, as well as the ne cessary function module. In addition, we construct three related but different in complexity peer review probability model in order to optimize the peer review function and to improve the accuracy.In the fourth section, we realize the function modules of MOOC basing on learning object theory, by using the Intelligence Platform of Beijing Hongcheng Technology Company.The fifth section analyzes the data of learning experiences and effectiveness of MOOC based on learning object theory. By comparing the results of experimental group and control group, we verify the learning effect of the MOOC. Also in this section we are doing survey of learning experience on the experimental group,and using SPSS to analyze the data.The last section of this study concludes the results, innovation and deficiencies, whilst putting forward prospects for future research.
