The new round of basic education reform have made a clear demand on schooling:“to change traditional receptive learning and learning by rote,advocate actively participate,the inquiry learning and industrious in learning,train the ability of collecting and processing information,analyzing and solving problem skills and the ability of connection and corporation.”Problem-based learning is a new teaching model which is on problem-started,the learning main form is self-study and cooperative learning group,aimed at advocate the ability of think,self-study,cooperative and problem solving.It has provided new ideas for solving problems in the junior high school biology teaching.This paper,firstly introduces the research background of PBL,the current research;secondly expatiates the meaning,characteristics,teaching principles,specifically the teaching process and the theoretical basis of PBL teaching mode;lastly discusses the construction and application PBL teaching mode in junior high school biology teaching,combined with the specific case illustrates the typical instructional design.By the end of the term,the author adopt questionnaires and the paper results to test PBL teaching mode, subjects are seventh graders.The purpose is to test the effect and feasibility of using PBL teaching mode in junior high school biology teaching,to explore a kind of effective teaching mode,and make more junior high school biology teachers know,learn and apply PBL teaching mode.The research shows that PBL teaching mode not only help improve student achievement,stimulate student interest in learning biology knowledge;but also help develop students’ ability to collect and process information, analyze problems and self-inquiry.But so far the application of PBL teaching in junior high school biology is still in the exploratory stage,in many aspects and need the majority of junior high school biology teachers work together to further research.
