The university students in contemporary China are the builders and successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics, undertaking the nation’s future and hope. They are the most actively important part of our society. The political trust of the university students means the psychological orientation that they believe, entrust and support the political system, based on their subjective expectations in the process that the university students of specific social and historical context interact and cooperate with the political system. The political trust of the university students in contemporary China includes the trust in the nation-state, the trust in the political values, the trust in the political systems, the trust in the public policies and the trust in the public organizations. Improving the level of their political trust can promote not only the construction of the socialist harmonious society and the development of the socialist democratic politics, but also their own development.Through surveying the political trust’s situation of the university students in contemporary China with the questionnaire, and integrating and analyzing the data, we can find that the overall situation of their political trust is good, but there are still many problems in some specific areas. And, there are many significant differences in the level of trust when the university students trust the nation-state, the political values, the political systems, the public policies and the public organizations. In short, the features of their political trust mainly show that loyalty and perplexity, firm and confusion, ideal and reality, affirmation and suspicion coexist.The political trust of the university students is the product that some social objective factors, such as the economic factors, the political factors, the cultural factors, and the university students’ own subjective factors work together in the specific period. So it must be affected by these factors. Specifically, the factors include: the economic factors, such as the economic development and the market economy, the political factors, such as the political systems, the political performance and the corruptions, the cultural factors, such as the Chinese and foreign political culture, the ideological and political education and the mass media, the university students’ own factors, such as their psychological characteristics, their political awareness and their political ideas.Building the political trust of the university students in contemporary China is a systematic project. It requires us to start from many aspects, combined and coordinated with multi-power and a variety of ways for obtaining some good results.
