Research On Current Situation And Trends Of Greenway In Hubei

"Greenway" has been introduced to China in 1990s. It has been started the experiment in Pearl River Delta region, and gradually spread to the inland city. There is now a certain scale and infrastructure. As the open public space, the greenways greatly expand the sports public space, not only provide a new way to achieve universal sport this goal, but also solve the problem of urban green environment. In recent years, the Hubei Province draws on the experience of the greenways in Pearl River Delta region and puts into the planning of construction the greenway networks in Xiangyang city and Wuhan city. The development of greenways in Hubei Province has entered a booming development period, but compared to the Pearl River Delta region, there is still a large gap whether in building experience or in scientific research. Through the literature search we can find that there is little research on Hubei’ greenways, and there is no research on the current situation in Hubei Province to investigate the construction of the greenways. In order to better develop the greenways in Hubei Province, making people have a workout public green space, we need to have a macro and overall awareness. So the survey of greenway construction in Hubei is very necessary, and it has a strong theoretical and practical value. In this study, we use the data of 2014 national stadiums survey which screen the Hubei part and through literature analysis, data analysis and other research methods, in order to analyze the current situation in Hubei Province. Besides, we want to find some problems and on this basis to propose appropriate suggestions. Finally, we want to provide some views on future development trend of greenways. The results are as follows:(1) At present, the development of greenways in Hubei is uneven;(2) The greenways of Hubei still belong to the "public", privately owned only a small portion of the greenways;(3) The main funding of greenway construction comes from government funding;(4) The city fitness greenways are far more than hiking trails and the people who want to play in hiking trails is more than city fitness greenways. The majority of greenways are open all year round. Besides, the Hubei greenways relatively lack staffs;(5) There are 17 greenways having received sports teams which include 12 amateur teams and 5 professional teams. Half of the greenways had received 500 passengers or less weekly. The income of the greenways is not ideal.(6) The size of greenways has a significant effect on fitness people per week and income;(7) Different distribution has different fitness people per week. The most is park greenways, and the least is institution greenways;(8) The trail materials have a significant effect on fitness people per week and income;(9) Strategies and recommendations:focusing on a comprehensive and balanced development of Hubei greenways; expanding the sources of funding for construction of the greenways; enriching the types of greenways in order to adapt different people and it is important to construct quality and features greenways; rationally planning the area and distribution of greenways, besides it is important to employ enough staff for greenways.(10) The trend and development of greenways:researching the greenway from the "user experience" perspective; combining greenway construction and eco-tourism construction; focusing on interdisciplinary study and combination of qualitative and quantitative, and combination of theory and practice.
