In the vast rural areas, the feudal thought of preferring boys to girls is still generally existing, which is difficult to be broken for a long time. In rural areas, if you don’t have a son, you may be made indiscreet remarks or criticisms by villagers around who will say that you are sonless and can’t carry on the family line. Therefore, many villagers will have several children, until they have a son. Due to the imbalance of economic development in China, a lot of rural labors force in the central and western regions come to the eastern coastal areas to work in succession to increase the income. Nowadays, the production safety accidents always happen, so many migrant labors from the central and western villages die because of the production safety accidents. Their accidental death creates the "lost-child family". Why are they called the "lost-child family"? As mentioned above, many families in the central and western rural areas have more than one child, but the son is a backbone of the family and someone who will provide for the aged. While the girls are not taken seriously by their parents, the sons work outside and die accidently, such families have great similarities with lost-child family in terms of the emotion and pension issues, so they are called "ost-child family". The "lost-child family" is still at the self-healing and self-help stage actually in nobody’s guidance. In view of the sudden lack of spiritual demands of "lost-child family", this topic selects two cases of "lost-child family", deeply dissecting the needs of "lost-child family" from the perspective of social work professionally helping others, in guidance of cognitive behavior theory, social support network theory, Alice’s ABC theory and structural family therapy model to explore the resources and push them out of the shadows, making him so sad, to restore the confidence.Through the intervention with a series of case work methods, the author concludes that the psychological problems of "lost-child family" concentrate on two aspects, one is that they are too hard to accept the fact of losing son and the irrational beliefs dominate the thinking and action, and the second is to shut doors to the outside and refuse to communicate with people, the third is to change sadness to angry and send it to the member of his family. In the intervention basing on professional service, the author fully considers the special mental state and the difficult to accept actuality, strictly obeying the social work ethics. After a period of intervention and follow-up, the status of service objects from the three cases of "lost-child family" has been controlled and eased effectively. They can think with right way and return to normal life. Thus, the author concludes many inspirations and suggestions helping the "lost-child family" out of psychological troubles from the social work, to provide certain reference for the case study of social work about the "lost-child family".
