Case Study Of Social Work Involving Families Who Have Lost Their Families

The implementation of the family planning policy has effectively controlled the speed of the growing population.however,many policies work like a double-edged sword.Family planning is not an exception,on the one hand it slows down the growth of population efficiently,on the other hand it changes the overall family structure.Nowadays,"only one child family"or "three-people-family"dominates the society,because many parents forms the conception of having one child under the influence of family planning policy.Many one-child families mushroomed due to the policy and these special families are facing higher risks,for unexpected accidents might make them become the loss of only one child family.These special groups are enduring not only internal predicament from financial loss,serious psychological trauma,disease,old-age care,but also external troubles from absence of relevant laws and regulations,deficiency of social security systems.The public has just started to pay attention to the loss of only one child family,nevertheless,lots of policies and many relevant institutions has just started up.In fact,parents who lost their only one child remains in the situation of self-treatment without guidance and encouragement.Given internal predicament and external troubles facing by the families who lost the only one child,this research paper selects two cases to try to use integration practice mode as the main intervention methods.On the basis of the theory of narrative therapy mode,social support and social work theory in community,this paper has conducted a thorough analysis of the plight of families who lost their only one child and a thorough search for links and available resources so as to comprehensively guide these families to slowly overcome psychological shadow and to revive confidence in life and hope.By applying a systematic method for individual case involvement,the researchers learned that the elders who lost their only one child have many unique and special features and they face various and complex troubles.Taking many factors into consideration,this research tries to use integration practice mode to solve the plight of loss of only one child family.Integration practice mode advocates to solve the problems facing by these families from the three aspects such as micro,medium and macro.After a period of intervention and follow-up,observation and record,the two elderly man have got obvious improvement and relief,and have gradually changed their original negative mentality and behavior.At present,they are trying constantly to return to the normal life track.It can be concluded that in the process of helping the two elderly men with their psychological difficulties,professional social work method and theory on individual case played a vital role.It it hoped that the author's enlightenment and suggestions provide insights and references to the individual case work on loss of only one child family.
