Historical concept is an abstract generalization of historical facts for historical events, historical figures, historical phenomena and so on. The structural, synchronic and developmental characteristics of historical concept itself increase many difficulties in grasping of the historical concept. However, historical concept learning is an important starting point for middle school students in learning history. What’s more, it also plays an important role in grasping the students’ knowledge of history, developing the dialectical thinking of history and improving the learning skills. Through the investigation and study, the author has found, during the learning of historical concept, students are mainly having problems in two aspects: misunderstanding the historical concept and lacking the learning methods of historical concept. Therefore, we should teach students to understand the concept of historical connotation, classification and so on. And it is also important to teach them the leaning methods of grasping the historical concept.From the perspective of students learning, the thesis will make students’ needs as the basis of a historical concept, comprehensive analyze the learning disabilities of concept for students, and put forward the corresponding guidance measures to solve the problem, such as strengthening the understanding of the historical concept, studying history concept learning methods, deeply constructing the historical concept system and so on. The author hopes that it will provide some feasible suggestions for the historical concept teaching and learning. Through the mutual cooperation of promote effective learning and effective teaching, the historical concept of effective learning will be realizes by teacher and students.
