With the development of the social economy and the diversification of the culture, it is more and more necessary for the country to cultivate high quality talent in physical and mental health. Colleges and universities are important places for building outlooks on the world, the life and the values. There are more and more problems on moral and mental health in the college, many people from different kinds of fields pay much attention to it. Some experts try to study and discuss on the moral education and mental health education from different views and subjects. However, most of them are discussing on the introspection on a single course education, bias macro interpretation or subjective judgemental methods. But they seldom study on empirical research. Meanwhile, there are few researches on the link of moral education and mental health education of colleges, as well as ways of the teaching reform. Moral education and mental health education, which are good for college students to cultivate values and develop physical and psychological quality, play a very important role in students’ growing and success. There are few researches on the ways especially possible methods to improve the efficiency of these two educations, most people study on it from the point of the sense, status or present situation. The teaching reform of these two educations directly affects the efficiency of education. How to reasonably handle with the relationship between two educations? How to avoid the entanglements even conflicts of them in practice? How to innovate in the respect of teaching idea, teaching content, teaching method and course assessment in order to improve the efficiency and quality of education? These questions are the point of this article. From an entry point of the teaching reform, this essay try to survey and analyse the moral education and mental health education deeply by mixed research methods of questionnaire survey and depth interviews, based on the teaching status and the present problems of these two kinds of educations in some colleges from Guangxi. Though this research, we can see that these two kinds of educations have been generally offered and a series of relatively mature lectures have already set up in colleges from Guangxi. Nevertheless, according to the students’ assessment on the subjects, the degree of satisfaction on these two kinds of education is overall on the low side. Besides, the content of courses are old-fashioned, teachers are just calling off the book, so the teaching efficiency is not as ideal as expected. As a whole, the present situation is that one teacher gives too much different lessons in one semester, a teacher have to face to too many students in a class, and there is less interaction, boring teaching method and formalized course-appraisal mode. To some degree, all of these problems are related to the negative effects of utilitarianism, weak expertise, the gap of theory and practice, and the obscure relationship between moral education and mental health education. Generally speaking, under the effects of quick buck idea on pragmatism and instrumentalism from the west countries, colleges and universities are aim at cultivating professional knowledge and skills, which ignore the development of the humanistic spirit and the intrinsic value. Besides, public courses in the liberal arts classes, such as moral education and mental health education, which are excluded to a edge position, so they are less affected by the real value. In a sense, these problems and reasons are very universal. Therefore, in order to solve problems on these two kinds of education, teaching reform must be enforced. That is to say, humanistic teaching idea should be advocated, and teachers ought to pay attention to students’ subjectivity and the comprehensive quality cultivating. In respect of the teaching process, emotional experience of students should be valued. In the side of the teaching mechanism, practical lectures could be added. On teaching methods, it’s better to use the way of service learning and experiential learning, modern teaching tools and more communication between students and teachers as well. In the way of teaching strength, it’s necessary to introduce a wide range of professional faculty. So teaching reform need to be energized based on admitting and respecting differences on moral education and mental health education.
