We can easily find a problem in the flourishing career of teaching Chinese as a foreign language(TCSL):people always pay more attention on language teaching,and easily ignore the culture teaching.The essay hold that culture teaching is necessary in a foreign language teaching.Because culture and language are interrelated and complementary.Language carries certain cultural connotations, only understanding the background culture information can make a language leaner make less mistakes and culture conflicts and finish the communication well. During nine months of teaching practice in northeast Thailand, the author made a research of the current situation of Chinese culture teaching in this area. And from this research the author realize some problems in it, and throw out some suggestions hoping can be helpful for other scholars and teachers in this field.This article is divided into six parts, the first chapter is the introduction.This part mainly includes the selected topic reason, the background information, research review and the research purpose, content and method. Chapter two is about current situation of Chinese culture teaching of primary and secondary schools in northeast Thailand.The author will analyzed from these four factors:school, Confucius institute,Chinese teachers and text book.Chapter three is the report of this survey,including the respondents, the survey content, the process and the result of the survey.Chapter four is about the suggestions. The last chapter is epilogue of this whole paper and make wishes to Chinese teaching career in northeast Thailand.
